![]() Kirill Chour | Kirill Chour completed his studies to the Academy of ballet dance Vaganova, Saint-Petersbourg ( Russia). His main professors were V.C. Zimin, I.G. Gensler and N.N. Serebrennikov. After his studies, in 1984, he joins the Opera Company Theater of the St-Petersbourg's conservatoire, and the theater of contemporary ballet of St-Petersbourg, directed by Boris Eifman. With this last one, he participates in several tour programs of the company's repertoire in France, in Germany as well as in Japan. Arrived at Montreal in 1991, he participates in various productions in Canada and in the United States, and works sporadically with Richard Tremblay since 1992. |
| Sophie Desjardins | Sophie Desjardins holds a dance degree from the Université du Québec in Montreal. Besides being at the very basis of her training, the extensive practice of several forms of Yoga becomes an important source of inspiration in the creative work which she now undertakes at the same time as her work as a dancer. Sophie Desjardins stayed in India where she pursued a training in Bharata Natyam. With Danse Kalashas, she participated in the 1992 production of the Saidye Bronfman Centre, in Montreal. |
Sophie Janssens | Sophie Janssens was born in Anvers, Belgium. She completed her training at the Rotterdam Academy of Dance (Netherlands), and improved her knowledge and experience in techniques from ballet to various contemporary styles including Release, somatic approaches (Continuum, Butoh), and energetic approaches (Yoga, Shiatsu). Her career begins in Holland, at the Rotterdamse Dansgroep onwards via the Voortman-De-Jonge Company. She settles in Montreal in 1996, where she runs a busy schedule, working with Mariko Tanabe, Irène Stamou, Debra Dunn, Howard Richard, Lynda Gaudreau, and Dominique Porte. Recently, she worked with Belgian dancer choreographer Ann Van den Broek, and with Jane Mappin. By the side of her career as a dancer, Sophie Janssens further specializes in Shiatsu, and teaches Pilates technique. |
![]() Anil Kumar | Anil Kumar studied in Kerala Kalamandalam (India) where he completed his training in Kathakali. He studied the Kathakali repertoire, and danced the principal roles thereof. A talented dancer, he became known in a duet of contemporary dance choreographed and presented by Richard Tremblay during workshops, and during a workshop which took place at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Franche-Comté à Belfort-Sochaux, France. Beside his dance abilities, Anil Kumar possesses an intuition for movement, allowing him to feel at home as much as in kathakali as in contemporary work. Anil Kumar participated in the presentation of The Iliad, in Singapore. |
![]() Benoît Leduc | Benoît Leduc is a graduate from the École Supérieure de Danse du Québec. He danced with Le Jeune Ballet du Québec and with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. In Argentina, he trains in Tango which he presently teaches in Montreal. He worked for musicals and circus choreographies with Jean Grandmaitre, Debra Brown, and La compagnie Les Gens d'R, showing renewed interest for a fusion of dance and aerial space. Benoît L. is currently a dancer with Montréal Danse. |
![]() Guillaume Lemasson | Guillaume Lemasson lives and works in Paris. He is the co-founder of La Cie L. Et L where he had his first choreographies staged (Aline et A, Du milieu d'eux). As the company is dismantled in 2002, he continues his creative venture with Eric Senen and the company Cie L et S. Trained in classical dance from the Conservatoire National de la Région de Tours, and in contemporary dance in Paris, he undertakes further studies under Christine Bastin, Carlotta Ikeda, Christine Kono, Jean Cébron... Guillaume L. is currently a dancer with the Icosaédre Marilèn Iglesias Breuker Company. He danced for the following companies: Cie Studio Laroche-Valière, Cie Caroline Marcadé, Centre Chorégraphique National de Nantes Claude Brumachon, Cie Echafaudage, Cie Actogramme, Cie Damuthée. He is involved in photography since 1999. (Exhibitions: Villes Traces Ciels 2004 Maschinenhaus - Essen; 2002 Librairie Wallonie-Bruxelles - Paris.) He is also a school dance teacher. ![]() Pascale Léonard | Pascale Léonard received her training to the Ateliers De Danse Moderne, in Montreal (LADDMI). Within the framework of the school productions, she interpreted works by Ginette Laurin and Lynda Rabin. She also studied in ballet dance as well as in gymnastics. She did a training in Bharata Natyam and Koodiattam, in India, and went regularly to New York for classes in various schools. She presented soloes in Tangente, l'Espace Go and, recently, in the Studio 303, in Montreal. Pascale Léonard participated in the Danse Kalashas works in collaboration with Danse Cité (Agora de Danse, Montreal), in 1995, and in the presentation of a solo for Richard Tremblay within the framework of Les Rencontres Chorégraphiques. |
![]() Georges Molnar | Georges Molnar was born in Budapest, and studied mime with Michel Poletti and Étienne Decroux. He established himself in Montreal where he pursued his researches, and became a teacher of mime and a specialist of the Decroux technique. He joins Les Enfants du Paradis, now CARBONE 14, with which he participates in Les Âmes Mortes, L'Hiver-Winterland, and Silences et Cris. In 1999, he played in La Paresse, by François Girard, presented at the Musée d'art contemporain, and, in 2001, was in Strata by choreographer Pierre-Paul Savoie. |
![]() Geneviève Pepin | Geneviève Pepin trained in ballet dance and modern dance. In 1979 and 1980, she joined the ranks of the DansePartout Company. Following this experience with a dance company, her quest for dance brings her in India, in 1981, and in Senegal, in 1985, where she discovers forms of dance which enrich and widen her vision. Then, she works as freelance dancer, and joins in the dance Department of the University of Quebec in Montreal where she completes her Master Degree. She contributed to the interpretation of the choreographies of Richard Tremblay with whom she works since 1989. She participated in the research for creations by Louise Bédard, and assisted William Douglas as well as Sylvain Émard in tasks of education. She participated in creations of Benoît Lachambre, and is now collaborating very actively to projects of training for first nations. |
![]() Mariko Tanabe | Mariko Tanabe is a dancer and choreographer, and was born in Canada. Her training includes traditional dances like Kabuki and Nô but she also trained in Butô, Flamenco, Middle East dance, and Experimental Theatre. She was for twelve years with one of American Modern Dance pioneer, Erick Hawkins, and with his company where she was first dancer, teacher, and rehearsal director. In 1996, she was artistic director assistant with La Compagnie Marie Chouinard. Mariko Tanabe has authored many choreographies including recent work, Daphnée, which she presented at La Maison de la Culture du Plateau Mont-Royal. |
![]() Peter Trosztmer | Peter Trosztmer completed a degree in Classics,and went to the Concordia Dance Department before moving to Toronto to complete the Toronto Dance Theatre training program. Peter has worked and taught in Toronto, Victoria and Moncton, finally settling in Montreal. He has worked with a variety of choreographers including: Marie Chouinard, Jose Navas, PPS Dance, Bill Coleman, David Kilburn, Pablo Diconca, Sonya Stephan, Stephan Deligny, Catherine Tardiff, Jane Mappin, Sarah Febrarro, and Jean Grandmaitre. As well, Peter has produced and performed his own solo work. "This fire", a video collaboration with Ian Ferrier and Marleen Miller, won an award at the film and video festival in Vancouver where Peter received honourable mention for best performance. He has been involved with other video projects for Bravo fact. Recently, he was in Cuba on a cross cultural collaboration with Production Company Tess and Teatro Escambray. Peter T. has been a dancer for Montreal Danse. |
