The Galileo Spaces, Centre de Création pour Musique et Danse,
is a working place shared by the choreographer
Richard Tremblay, and the percussionist
and composer Bruno Paquet,
on the basis of the years they spent in close association, working on
Kathakali dance. It brings together
two disciplines, encouraging their interaction through the process
of creation.
The Centre is a forum for these two artists' collaborative
efforts; it also functions as a space for
classes, workshops, conferences
and other activities designed to bring works of creation and their
authors to the public's attention.
The Montreal-based Centre is located in the bell tower of Notre
Dame de Grâce Church. Built in 1927, the bell tower is a three-storey
stone building, whose studios have been a haven to dance for over
25 years.
