Kathakali in the open
Closing round the dancers they have been watching through the whole night performance, the inhabitants of a small village near Vadakkanchery await the conclusion of the dance which is lingering, here, long after dawn. The dancers stand under a shelter decorated with banderoles, and they stamp on mats laid on the ground.
